Tuesday Train #258

Maintenance of Way workers, the often unseen hero’s of the railway. Working strange hours in all weather conditions to keep the tracks safe and in condition to ensure safety of passengers and those along the line. Seen here is a CPR crew working on the Galt Subdivision in Toronto one evening when I popped out to a store. I drove around the back as I couldn’t remember if the shot coming under Highway 427 was decent (it wouldn’t be for a train, bad angle, fences, garbage, debris), but then the ballast regulator above popped out. I then went along the line and found the rest of the crew on the bridge at Shorncliffe Road and by Kipling Subway station. Just starting a long nights work replacing ties and keeping the line safe.
